RAUM OHNE ZEIT
“We’re searching, searching – for how long already?” – the short poem at the start of Alessandra Coronato’s haptic short film is an invitation for us to join in on a search. In under four minutes, this portrait of artist Sarah Schrof creates a space that we are allowed to slowly explore. The analogue images and the rich, intense sound bring us right up close to the leaves, flowers and earthy colours with which Schrof works. Interrupted by footage of her studio and shots through murky glass, this place comes across as simultaneously mystical and tangible. The end of the poem from the beginning hangs in the air like a response or a desire: “In the distance close by, we are free of time.”
